Body outline shape oval, uniformly ciliated by paired cilia. Oval oral aperture in anterior body third. On the right of the aperture there is a paroral membranelle arising from kinetosomes that are arranged in a zigzag manner. The paroral membrane travels down, around the posterior end of the oral aperture and halfway up its left side. A line of membranelles begins at the base of the aperture and this extends obliquely left onto the dorsal body surface. Each membranelle arises from a block of kinetosomes that is made up from 3 rows which similar to the arrangement found in Bryophrya. Cytoplasm yellowish, feeds on Cyanophyceae, found in temporary pools in Africa.
