Descriptions

In fixed state, body 5.2 mm long, maximally 0.3 mm wide, segments 32. No eyes. Dorsal chaetal bundles beginning in XIV, each consisting of one short (110-142 um long), smooth hair and one curved, bifurcate crotchet. Dorsal crotchets 92-104 um long, with nodulus distally and with long teeth; upper tooth much longer and as thick as or a little thinner than lower. Ventral chaetae all bifurcate; those in anterior segments 2-3 per bundle, 90-98 um long, with nodulus medially to proximally, upper tooth longer and thinner than lower; those in middle and posterior segments 2-3 per bundle, 76-84 um long, becoming a little thicker than in anterior segments, with nodulus distally and with upper tooth shorter and much thinner than lower. Remarks

All chaetal characteristics found in the present specimen coincide well with those in the previous descriptions. This is the first recorded occurrence of this species in Japan. (ref. ID; 6648)
