Descriptions

Small nematodes. Body after fixation, either straight or curved ventrad. Cuticle with transverse striae, but without somatic setae. Six labial and four cephalic papillae on the lip region seen on SEM pictures. Lip region continuous with the rest of the body. Stoma three to four lip region widths long, well sclerotized, usually curved. In the anterior end of the stoma are situated three small denticles, one dorsal and two ventrosublateral. Amphidial aperture slit-like, situated at around one and one-half lip region width from the anterior end. Pharynx with refractive lumen, and terminating in a muscular bulb that has well developed valves. Nerve ring slightly posterior to middle of pharynx. Ventral gland and excretory pore not seen. Pharyngo-intestinal junction simple i.e. the intestine directly joining the pharynx. Rectum slightly smaller than one anal body width. Tail long, slightly more than 11 times rectal length, consistently tapering up to the terminal spinneret. Caudal glands obscure. Female reproductive system didelphic, amphidelphic, with obscurely reflexed ovaries. Vulva with serrated lips (SEM) and situated anterior to mid-body. (ref. ID; 1311)
