Body cuticle annulated; each annule provided with a transverse row of scales composed of concretion material around a spine, scales irregularly dispersed or more or less ordered in longitudinal rows with or without a thin layer of concretion material between them. Somatic setae homogeneous. Body cuticle in juveniles similarly ornamented as in adult. Paratricoma is very close to Haptotricoma especially to H. boucheri, but can be distinguished from it by the absence of large glandular setae. (ref. ID; 878)
