Paramphidelus dolichurus (De Man, 1876) Andrassy, 1977 (ref. ID; 1311)

Descriptions

Body slender, slightly to strongly ventrally curved towards both ends but more often posteriorly, and in some specimens twisted around the axis; attenuated mainly posteriorly, terminating in a more or less filiform tail. Cuticle smooth. Lip region truncate, with a translucent tip 3.5 µm (3-5 µm) wide anteriorly and 5 µm (4-6 µm) wide posteriorly. Six rounded inner labial papillae are situated on the transparent portion of the lip region, while two whorls of six outer labial and four cephalic papillae are situated on the widening non-translucent part of the lip region. Amphidial fovea pouch-like, situated at 2.6(2.0-3.2) times the lip region width from the anterior end. The fusus amphidialis is seen in some specimens, it is situated at about five to six lip region widths from the anterior end. Stoma very short. Pharynx cylindrical for most of its length but gradually widening posteriorly. Nerve ring situated at about mid-pharynx. Cardia weakly developed. Intestine with wide lumen and granular cells. Ventral gland and excretory pore not observed. Rectum about one anal body width long. Tail filiform and long, about 17 times rectal length. Female reproductive system opisthodelphic, with reflexed ovary. Uterus with transparent cells. Vagina distinct, long, around two-fifths of the corresponding body width and directed posteriorly. No pre-vulval uterine sac. Vulval slit transverse, situated anterior to middle of body. (ref. ID; 1311)
  • Male: Males not found. (ref. ID; 1311)

Paramphidelus paludicola Gagarin, 1991 (ref. ID; 7909 original paper)

    Diagnosis

This species is closest to Paramphidelus exilis (Andrassy, 1962), but the tail has a different shape and is relatively shorter (in females of P. exilis, c=18-22). (ref. ID; 7909)

    Descriptions

Body very proportional. Head rounded, not distinct from the body contour. Head width 7-8. Diameter of body at level of posterior end of esophagus 4.3-5.0 times greater than head width. Amphid openings distinct, situated 22-30 µm from the anterior end of the body which is 3-4 times head diameter. Esophagus long, not muscular. Its mean length 438 µm. Vulva preequatorial, vagina short. Gonad postvulvar. Uterus has a prevulvar sac, its length is 2-3 times the diameter of the body. The tail is relatively short, its end is pointed. Length of tail 107-111 which is 6-7 times greater than the anal diameter of the body. (ref. ID; 7909)
