Circumscription; Naked large amoebas with reticulate pseudopodial system with bidirectional movement of cytoplasm; pseudopodial system is similar to that of the Foraminifera. Can produce cysts. Probably allied to or a member of the Granuloreticulosea; unfortunately the latter lacks a clear synapomorphy (see Granuloreticulosea). (ref. ID; 5694)
Ultrastructural identity; Mitochondria with tubular cristae, pseudopodia with microtubules not in geometric arrays, and with electron-dense bodies believed to be extrusomes. (ref. ID; 5694)
