Greeffia

Greeffia Singh & Hanumaiah, 1979 (ref. ID; 7594)

Order Amoebida Kent, 1880: Schizopyrenidae Singh, 1952 emend. Singh & Das, 1980 (ref. ID; 7594)

[ref. ID; 7594]
Definition; The resting nucleus contains a few or several small rounded nucleoli which during mitosis form 'polar masses'. Amoebae flattened and having thickened pellicle or dermal thickening. The outline of the amoebae during locomotion may be oval, oblong or ellipse and somewhat elongated or nearly fan-shaped. (ref. ID; 7594)
Notes; Singh and Hanumaiah (1979) have convincingly shown that in G. similis nucleoli give rise to 'polar masses' during mitosis. One other species, G. soli Singh and Hanumaiah, 1979 is known in this genus. (ref. ID; 7594)
Type species; Greeffia similis (Greeff, 1891) (ref. ID; 7594)
  1. Greeffia similis (Greeff, 1891) (ref. ID; 7594)
  2. Greeffia soli Singh and Hanumaiah, 1979 (ref. ID; 7594)
