Description; A flattened ovoid; sometimes narrowed anteriorly to a lingulate form, often with a broadly modulate uroid from which a few low folds may proceed anteriorly a short distance; hyaloplasm usually a deep crescent at anterior end, usually with thin lateral extensions toward posterior end; no discrete pseudopodia; normally uninucleate; non-mucoid tegument, more than 0.5 um thick in the one investigated species, enclosing amoeba but in electron microscopy preparations slightly separated from plasma membrane.
