Notes

In this species two wall layers could never be neatly distinguished. Rather, bits of the outer surface stuck up untidily around the entire circumference. The appearance somewhat resembled that of Naegleria fowleri cysts shown by Schuster (1975), but the cyst wall of A. galeacystis was thicker and never contained pores and plugs. (ref. ID; 7755)
